Slow News Day

Groklaw has an excellent piece on the beginnings of anti-Firefox FUD. I highly suggest you read it , not because of what it says about Firefox, but what it says about security. Some industry analysts think that security is about applying patches, while others understand that is is much more about architecture and user education.

Interestingly, the analyst piece really did not say anything other than some people may not be able to use Firefox because they have IE-specific applications. What bothers me about this, is that nothing of value was communicated, and yet ComputerWorld took up the "story." It must have been a slow news day.

We should expect more from our analysts and industry media.
